The question of war crime sin Sri Lanka is a continuing issue. Leaked U.S. documents say the United States believes there is little prospect Sri Lanka will hold anyone accountable for the bloody end of the war with the Tamil Tigers because war crimes allegations involve top government figures. According to british channel 4 news they have footage of an alleged massacre of Tamils.

From channel 4 news,"Channel 4 News Foreign Affairs Correspondent Jonathan Miller said: "The rest of the video is too gruesome to broadcast: women bound, shot dead, undressed; callous comments from onlookers laden with sexual innuendo. Since Channel 4 News received and broadcast the executions video over a year ago we have received hundreds of photographs and many more shocking videos depicting summary executions and rape."

Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and the International Crisis Group all argue for an independent War crimes investigation in Sri Lanka.

Many allege that under the current president Tamils are continuing to be killed and raped.
