Tamil's protest at Heathrow Airport

The Tamils and others who are opposed to the dictatorship of President Rajapakse regime in Sri Lanka are planning a massive protest demonstrations in Oxford for Thursday.

Buses from various cities of Britain are being arranged to carry the protesters to demonstrate the opposition to President Rajapakse and grab international attention of the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the military forces last year. The US has special interest and responsibility as the two Rajapakse brothers are US citizens.

The former army commander and Presidential candidate General Fonseka who is a permanent resident and scheduled to become a US citizen soon is suffering in jail in Weilkade.

Legal moves are being also undertaken by a battery of lawyers in London, against President Rajapakse under the current British laws against war crimes. Meanwhile, the Tamils are concentrating on the Thursday’s protest.

PROTEST AGAINST WAR CRIMINAL RAJAPAKSE AT OXFORD UNION

DATE: Thursday, 2nd December
TIME: 4pm-7pm
ADDRESS: The Oxford Union, Frewin Court, Oxford, OX1 3JB

Mahinda Rajapakse is in the UK to address Oxford Union on Thursday 2nd December at 6pm. British Tamils and supporters against war crimes need to make a firm stand against Rajapakse’s visit to the UK and his address at Oxford Union! Please do not let Rajapakse whitewash the cost of the war and ongoing failure to uphold human rights, rule of law and freedom of expression in Sri Lanka.

What YOU need to do:
. Inform all students of Oxford University, past students and members of student societies at other universities to petition against the speech of an alleged war criminal at one of the country’s most prestigious scholastic establishment

· If you have any contacts within the Oxford area please urge them to raise awareness of Sri Lanka’s human rights record and war crimes charges

· Make sure you attend the protest to make a stand against the speech at Oxford Union

· Inform all your friends, family, relatives and supporters against war crimes to take action

· Spread the word through social networks, blogs and personal contacts

Thank you.
